September is National Food Safety Education Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about safe practices that prevent foodborne illness.  Protecting food’s journey also requires us to account for new and emerging threats beyond pathogens and allergens.

Cybersecurity can and has impacted information technologies (IT) and operational technologies (IT) in modern agriculture and food manufacturing facilities.  We are continuously learning of new ways consumers are impacted – economically and worse.

In this video, food policy expert Dr. Darin Detwiler sits down with Kristen Demoranville (Cybersecurity expert and an award-winning Cybersecurity Podcast Host) to interview Stuart King (OT Risk Management and Cybersecurity expert). We discuss military technology, government policies, and the food and agriculture sector of cybersecurity.  Investments, priorities, culture all impact the likelihood and severities of malware, ransomware, and other hacks by those who are looking for financial gain (or political / economic disruption.)
