September is National Food Safety Education Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about safe practices that prevent foodborne illness. One thing that is consistent in the world of food safety … is change! This video looks at more changes throughout the 20th Century – particularly those around fast food.


In this rather visual lecture, food policy professor and author Dr. Darin Detwiler explores the overlap of food industry and importing of food and marketing to children and social policy decisions (sometimes completely unrelated to food safety…yet impacting consumers) in fast food chains.
